AfPA’s Director of Membership, Stakeholder Engagement and Communications is responsible for strengthening the Association’s national voice, visibility and value to members. The role leads strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, membership growth, and the delivery of programs that support a more connected, capable and informed pavements sector.

EXPERIENCE

Mark is a communications and engagement leader with a decade of marketing experience across the energy, arts, medicolegal, transport and pavements sector. His work spans strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, membership development, and the delivery of high-profile technical programs and events.

Prior to joining AfPA, Mark held senior roles at the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO), most recently leading marketing and communications for the National Asset Centre of Excellence (NACOE). In this role he strengthened the visibility of the Queensland Department of Transport of Main Roads’ flagship pavement research program, supported collaboration between state and local government, industry and academia, and delivered significant growth in digital engagement and program reach. Mark’s broader NTRO portfolio included national conferences, certification programs and strategic stakeholder initiatives.

Across his career Mark has developed a reputation for clear strategic thinking, disciplined delivery and constructive engagement. He brings experience across government relations, policy support, membership growth, digital platforms, workforce development programs and integrated communications. His background also includes agency design, event management and customer engagement, providing a strong foundation in how organisations connect with people and industry.

Mark commenced at AfPA in 2025.
